12 years ago, Chris Stevens and I made a short story called “2 Copper Pieces” that was part of the Pop Gun anthology. 2 years later, we took that same concept and worked with Edwin Huang, Misty Coats, and Marshall Dillon to launch the SKULLKICKERS ongoing comic series at Image Comics. From 2010 to 2015 we created 34 issues (over 900 pages) that has been collected in 6 spiffy softcover volumes and 3 deluxe 'Treasure Trove' hardcovers.

Skullkickers is my love letter to Dungeons & Dragons and Conan the Barbarian and, thanks to what it started, I now write the official Dungeons & Dragons comic series and the monthly adventures of Conan the Barbarian! In many ways, I owe my writing career to this kooky comic.

It's been 5 years since we wrapped up the series but, for our anniversary, we all got the itch to do something new with our favorite monster mashing mercenaries. 

Rather than just do a new comic, I wanted to channel some of the amazing experiences I've had working on Rick and Morty VS Dungeons & Dragons I + II and the D&D VS Rick and Morty Tabletop RPG Set,  Legends of Baldur's Gate, The D&D Young Adventurer's Guides, Pathfinder, and Munchkin to go even further, making a new comic AND playable tabletop adventure so you can bring the same kind of merry mayhem we have in the comics to your gaming table.

The Academy of Serious Sorcery and Holistic Occult Learning is filled to the brim with dark secrets and deadly beasts that riff on spell casting clichés from a variety of sword & sorcery sources while also providing a ton of new material you can use anywhere, including-
